Governor Jim Douglas To Attend Fundraiser For Franklin County Republicans

The Franklin Town Republican Committee in cooperation with the Franklin County Republican Committee is sponsoring the Franklin County Republican Holiday Dinner!  Say that fast three times ... Come on out and have some fun while raising funds for the County and Town committees.

This social event will be held at the Abbey Restaurant in Sheldon on Monday, December 15, 2003.
Cocktails will be served at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.  Please contact your committee chairperson for further information.

Leahy's Confirmation Threat

Jack McMullen writes about Sentator Patrick Leahy's ongoing war against Republican judicial nominees.  He states, "At this point Senate Democrats have already filibustered four nominees, and will likely filibuster three more. That's not only a bad faith use of the filibuster, it's unprecedented ? before the Estrada nomination, the filibuster had never been used against a circuit-court nominee."  Read the National Review article.
