Back to business: AOL on the ropes and to die Interesting comment, "The loss in 2002 was a little over $98 billion. BILLION! How do you lose $98 billion? The losses were so ridiculously incomprehensible that you see some reports claiming 98.2 billion and others 98.7 billion. Can you imagine $500,000,000 as a vague bookkeeping float? All along, Steve Case was hailed as a genius. I'd say!"

Yahoo story "Russia Says No Proof Saddam Is Threat to U.S." sounds a lot like saying before Chekoslovakia, Hitler was no threat to Europe. Please. Why do we behave so meekly. If the US did not do this now, the problem would eventually be located on someone else’s soil - closer to home. If not now, then later. They (Iraq and others) are bent on this. Why do some no believe this? How many bombs are needed?

Yahoo story: story France as a scapegoat? I don’t think anyone is looking for a scapegoat. In reality France led the banner to appease Iraq. By the very nature of political signaling, every time France said publicly they would not support war, and by saying they would veto a resolution that elevated the pressure for war as a deterrent, Iraq was being given help. Duh!

UN Security Council not failed? Telegraph story: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2003/03/19/ublix.xml&;;sSheet=/portal/2003/03/19/ixportaltop.html What are these French and Germans talking about? French leaders decry the war.  So what. Of course the UN has failed. Why do you think the Germans caught French of guard at Ardennes? Why did the Germans get break through at the weakest link (no less) in 3 days when the French High Command (so called) said it could not possibly be done in less than 9 days? Why did the French High Command move their HQ to a place that had no telephone? Why did the French High Command send military instructions from HQ to the troops by man on motorcycle? The French have no spine for the global community. The Germans have an excuse - the French don't. They hide behind weak arguments to cover their investments in Iraq. Appeasement can only go on for so long. The UN has failed, and assuming the war is short and less than sweet, the French (high command) will have to step down and fall aside and let the very unnatural relationship with Germany, that once drive the very coming together of a fractured Europe, wither and die. The French should never have gotten into bed with Germany and it is through too many losses and a national failing that their elder statesmen that should have known better, that they did. Of course it’s failed and thank God for a nation that can act on its selfish and global responsibilities!
