Solving the Multi-Network Wireless Problem
This is the second in the series of articles by Jim Louderback of eWeek about Intel's work in developing seamless integration of VoIP, cellular and wi-fi communication services. He cites Intel's recent purchase of Mobilian, a Hillsboro, Oregon chipmaker. This will allow Intel to integrate Bluetooth capabilities into 802.11b chips.

Providence Portland Medical Center Goes Live with Vocera Wearable Voice Communication System
This is an announcement by Datavision about its recent contract to deliver its Vocera wireless system to the Providence Health System of Oregon.
"Datavision's depth of experience in both healthcare and Vocera implementation provides us with the outside expertise we need on such a groundbreaking communication system. On top of providing an efficient way to communicate, we anticipate developing a number of revised workflows that will accelerate the benefits for us," explained Cindy Baker, IS manager Providence Health System - Oregon. The Vocera Communications System provides hands-free, voice-activated communications within 802.11b-networked buildings or campuses. Aimed at mobile workers in hospitals, retail operations, and other industries, the system will allow users to interact with each other instantly and make decisions quickly with simple voice commands.
