Symphony By the Sea Orchestra Seeks Executive Director Citing rapid growth and ambitious plans for the future, Symphony by the Sea Orchestra seeks professional management for the position of Executive Director. This newly created part-time position will be responsible for managing growth and overseeing day-to-day operations of the orchestra.

"It's a fabulous opportunity for someone who enjoys this art form and likes to make things happen," says Symphony president, Stuart Cohen. "This person will play a central role in building up one of the cultural gems of Essex County."

Symphony by the Sea, now in its 22nd season, is north of Boston's premier symphony orchestra and the only all-professional classical music performance organization in the region. Under the leadership of Music Director, Jonathan McPhee, acclaimed conductor of the Boston Ballet, the chamber-sized orchestra has been widely recognized for its outstanding musical artistry, innovative programming and superb soloists.

The orchestra plays an annual five-concert subscription series in Marblehead and Salem, Massachusetts, and will play a three-concert series at Governor Dummer Academy for audiences in the Hamilton to Newburyport area next season. Besides orchestral and pops concerts, Symphony by the Sea is committed to music education for young people in the region through its support of an affiliated youth orchestra and the performance of special in-school concerts.

Candidates should correspond via email to scohen@symphonybythesea.org, or by mail to Symphony by the Sea, PO Box 1425, Marblehead, Massachusetts, 01945.
