Dear Sex tip counselor,
How long is too long to have sex? My girlfriend has only had one partner before me, and he was one of her high school classmates and didn't have much experience. Amy (not her real name) was surprised the first time that we had sex and it lasted for more than fifteen minutes.
I'm older (a lot older, but I don't want to say), and I've had many sex partners over the years. A half hour seems like a very short period to me, and an hour would be heaven. The only problem with this, is that Amy just doesn't seem to stay into it when we go that long.

You don't say whether or not Amy is having discomfort from sexual activity that simply lasts a long time, or if she's actually getting bored. I'll address both.
The most important thing is that Amy is comfortable. Does she remain lubricated for the duration of your longer-than-she's-used-to sessions? If so, is she experiencing pain in her vagina from the act of sex itself? If she's not used to having sex, she needs to get used to it, just like any other activity.
Have you ever skied? If so, you know that you can't just hop onto the mountain and ski for eight hours. You need to break in some very different muscles. Chances are that Amy is used to "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am" sex. If so, you may have to work up to longer, more enjoyable sex sessions.
Now, if she's simply bored by the sex act with you after twenty minutes, maybe there's something that needs looking into on your end of things.
