Diagonal knitting redux

Knitting on the diagonal is a bit like hiking uphill; there's always another ridge to conquer. The diagonal kimono progresses; this is the beginning of the second of two rectangles for the back of the piece.

Yarns: Mystery silk chenille (a gift from friend Lori), Compose ribbon (color 505), Interlacements Utah (color 102), Flutter (fuschia), Crystal Palace Deco Ribbon (color 118), Interlacements New Mexico, Colinette Wigwam (blue something), Interlacements nylon ribbon, more to come.

Daily war rant: U.S. networks in all their wisdom elected not to broadcast images of the American POWs in Iraqi hands, fearing for the delicate sensibilities of the American people. Unlike the media's decision not to show images of broken bodies in the aftermath of Sept. 11, this choice sanitizes the realities of war, distancing it from an American reality. The collapse of the Twin Towers was not our choice. Our entrance into this war is. We should have to witness the consequences of it.
