Many have been asking why I haven't been blogging for almost a month. Its because my hard disk crashed late-September, and I use Radio Userland, which is a desktop application, and hadn't backed up my blog files since late 2004 at my end (gulp). Luckily for me, I had enabled nightly backups in Radio, which allowed Lawrence Lee to retrieve my weblogdata root files. Its taken a while, but I am so grateful to Lawrence for persisting and getting it done, despite misgivings from others. Am still tweaking templates, so bear with me and drop in suggestions ! Lots has been happening ... lots to talk about. Will catch up on postings soon. Among other things to catch up on, we set up QuakeHelp after the recent earthquake in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India, I spent a delightful afternoon with a diverse group of people interested in writing on the web telling them about blogs and wikis and tagging and VOIP, was disturbed by the IIPM vs bloggers turn of events, which not only affects those involved directly, but all bloggers anywhere in the world. Will share more thoughts on these later. Am leaving tonight for the US and UK and posting my schedule here - am excited to be attending Poptech and EPIC 2005. I am presenting a paper on Accelerating Collaboration with Social Tools - with my client - on how we used a blog, wiki, VOIP for an ethnographic research project in India. Will upload the presentation later. And my first visit to Prague, pure holiday :). And catching up with many many blog friends all over - and many others from the research and ethnography world. Over the next four weeks, I will be in New York City and Maine for the first 10 days, London and Prague from Oct 29 to November 5, San Francisco - Nov 6 - 9, Seattle (Washington) - Nov 10 - 17.
