"Conversation. What is it? A Mystery! It's the art of never seeming bored, of touching everything with interest, of pleasing with trifles, of being fascinating with nothing at all. How do we define this lively darting about with words, of hitting them back and forth, this sort of brief smile of ideas which should be conversation?" Guy de Maupassant

I'm on the last leg of my trip ... in Seattle now. Spent a day in the city and liked the feel of this place .. it feels liberal and artsy, with loads of curious galleries and antique stores downtown.

Pat Sachs of Social Solutions is hosting a global consortium of workplace anthropologists, ethnographers and qualitative researchers and I'm thrilled to be a part of the group. I met several colleagues from Spain, Japan, Germany and the US last night over dinner and it was such fun swapping stories. Mary who is originally from Israel, and now lives in Japan, shared many stories about Japanese culture, language and people and they were fascinating. We're all going to spend the day together today, figuring out how we can take this Global Consortium forward.

Many other bloggy thoughts that I will cover soon ... have just been so lazy about blogging. Placeholders for me:

  • PopTech reflections
  • My trip to Prague
  • Visiting Apple Stores and buying the Video iPod (and being disappointed that it doesn't have the plugins for recording and for radio transmission)
  • Visiting Google and Miscrosoft campuses - there sure is a difference in the look-feel-touch!
  • Is fear driving America today
  • Simplicity
  • Global teams
