Changing times Starting from next Monday, 8th September, I'm changing to a new work pattern. I will be in the office Mon-Thurs, but not Fri. Publication of the Media Network features and weekly newsletter will be switched from Friday to Thursday. Coverage of breaking media news will be maintained on Fri, Sat and Sun via this Weblog. Of mice and worms... If you've read the comments to the previous item you'll have seen that we've been hit by a worm that got in to our computer network at Radio Netherlands. The darned thing actually did find its way on to my C drive, and those of some of my colleagues, but was quickly exterminated. However, our mail server has been down most of the day, so we haven't been able to send or receive E-mail. I knocked off an hour earlier than usual today, as we've come to depend so much on electronic communications that every task I thought of doing could not be carried out because it depended on being able to access information in my mailbox. Hopefully calm will be restored by tomorrow. I have to say a word of praise for the guys in our IT department: they will be working till the problems are fixed, even if it's deep into the night. 6:43:32 PM     comment on this entry []
