One day to go to the start of Euro 2004, which we hope is going to be a festival of football. On Sunday, England take on France, many peoples' favourites to win the tournament. But if that's going to be a big match, it's nothing compared to the "local derby" on Tuesday when Holland take on arch-rivals and neighbours Germany. Radio Netherlands has organised a staff barbecue with a big screen to watch the game, and I suspect that nobody in attendance will dare to show any sympathy for the German team. Neither has impressed in warm-up games, but a match between these two always generates extra emotion and excitement. There will even be extra police on duty along the border between the two countries, as emotions sometimes get out of hand! Only a game? You've gotta be joking...
