I was listening to the English Muffin show as I was driving home and stuck in traffic. The topic of the day was about fraternity hazing. This was brought about by an article in MSNBC about a high school hazing injuring 5 girls. High school hazing? Fraternities in high school? The only fraternities I knew about when I went to high school was the Mu Alpha Theta (Mathematics) and that was an academic fraternity not some party hardy fraternity. Whats the world coming to?
The commute going home was a headache! First of all I had to drop off a project at the New Hyde Park branch. So I had to take the Northern State Parkway from New Hyde Park Road. There were two accidents on the way home and the rubbernecking started as I entered the parkway. I was muttering to myself what the heck is the matter with these people in front of me. Its an accident on the otherside of the highway - keep moving! I did glance at the second accident. This car hit the center guard rail to avoid rear ending another vehicle. The driver had a severe accident and an off duty paramedic was treating her at the scene. Took me two hours to get home instead of the usual 45 minute drive.
Its amazing that Vietnam Halted SARS a third world country defeated the outbreak and here in this country we are still scratching our heads about it. Some leadership this turned out to be.[New York Times]
I am awaken by the ring of the phone at 5am this morning. Jay from work calling to ask if he should still do the job for MB who has posters that are a hair bigger than 24x36. I told him, Nike and went back to sleep. I really couldn't sleep after that. If Jay calls just to ask me silly questions like that I am wondering why Paul ever decided to hire him.
