Watching the Sum of All Fears the other day reminded me of THIS article in Metafilter.  Is anyone ever prepared for a nuclear attack?  When I first arrived in New York City, our neighborhood was full of these Nuclear Fallout Shelters in the basements of apartment buildings.  Nowadays, these have been converted to laundrymats, basement banquet halls and office spaces.  Where do we hide in the event of a nuclear attack?  Ill take a walk outside and discintigrate into nothingness...

In the five years I have worked for Kinko's, I have learned to become a leader that my team members look up to.  I have also become a leader leading to nowhere.  At least thats what I think.  Reviewing this Managing with Integrity training guide, it seems that I am fast becoming a leader digging a hole for my team to die in.  Today, Paul left me alone to lead the team and manage them through the day.  All I ended up doing was being a teenage baby sitter for a bunch of little buggars - so to speak.  The focus lately has been on team moral building and management but there are days when I just have to put my hand in the cookie jar and conduct some of the productivity instead of managing it.  Its a vicious circle...
