So, the scene. This is being written on a powerbook that I can carry from room to room because it's wirelessly connected to Carol's cube that sits under the table in her writing room. Right now I'm in the bedroom. The little Airport marker in the menu bar shows only one out of four stripes: the radio signal has a hard time going up the stairs. Is it the angle? Ok, my first real post. I can hardly say how excited I am to be doing this. My culmination comment, below, does sum up my feelings: all of evolution has happened so that people can easily publish and others can easily subscribe (old Apple terminology). No more need I feel guilty about not writing Christmas letters. This is my best chance so far to become a celebrity (to my friends and acquaintances). Famous all over town. First in my family to have a weblog. You too can have one (I'm bowled over by how instantaneously easy this is. Up and running in 5 minutes, more satisfying, less fattening.)
