Here's an example of thinking ahead -- the guy who registered BenedictXVI.com went through the list of previous Popes and came up with the six that the new Pope was most likely to choose.  One of those six was BenedictXVI.com -- jackpot.

All the suckers (like me) ran to register some good Pope names once the chosen name was final, but we were all too late.  To get the best domain names make sure you take some time to anticipate future events -- don't wait until those events actually take place.
