Sun looks to chip performance to bring brighter days. Beleaguered server firm is working on a series of higher-performance processors it hopes will get profits back on track. [CNET News.com]
Sun is putting out it's strategy press releases now a little more often. This can only be reassuring to anyone investing in the company or thinking about future capital purchases of Sun hardware. Thank God they finally partnered up with Fujitsu and have established a hard and fast road map to increase the performance of their chips. Now there are three. Sun, IBM and Intel with their own chip architectures. Hopefully this balance of power can be maintained for some time, at least until HP finally kills off its PA-RISC chip architecture.
