New Year
I think New Year's Day is a weird time. I cannot help but have the
feeling of newness. It is basically just another winter Ohio day
outside, but I have this feeling inside that I have a chance to rethink
all those things I've been doing robotically all year long, that I get
another chance.
It's funny looking back at my written New Year's ruminations that I
used to do. I am kind of amazed that I've accomplished a lot of things
I wanted back then: getting married to a wonderful woman,
starting my own business (third one!), writing books, becoming a
speaker, getting myself out of the material rat race. I really have
accomplished something, even though I usually feel frustrated with the
issue du jour.
In that way, New Year's is enjoyable. Also, the little thrill that goes
up and down my back when I think of what's ahead and how wonderful it
could be.
