We'd like to thank I.J. Hudson of NBC4, who did a piece last week the Telework Consortium and on telecommuting in general for his "Digital Edge" news segment. A transcript of the TV segment has been added to his Digital Edge web site, but it's worth going to the web site link first. There you'll see a shot of  Bob MacIver of the Software Productivity Consortium (in Herndon, VA), using one of our advanced video tools to teach a classroom of Dyncorp students located in Springfield, VA. This pilot effort was arranged to test out the technologies in a real-life training situation, where we could collect feedback from students to help identify best practices and lessons learned, and to compare the experience to "live" classroom training. Here's his leading paragraph:

"The experts have been saying for years that many of us could work from home and perhaps be more productive as well as save the company money. We could have more time for family, while actually spending more hours working instead of commuting and fuming and wishing we were somewhere else. The Telework Consortium is trying to provide proof that all of this is true, technically possible, and affordable. "

I.J. is a huge proponent of telework, and we hope to have the opportunity to meet with him again as we move forward in our work.
