Justice Does Blogging

With the advent of enterprise web logging tools that also offer security, the Western States Information Network (WSIN) has adopted a blogging approach to create communications between member agencies and officers, as reported in PC magazine in an article by Alan Cohen.  The benefits are explained by WSIN Assistant Director (at the time) Karen Aumond in an article in Government Technology.

The software chosen by WSIN is one of the new enterprise blogging applications that are designed for large scale information sharing under security controls rather than individual posting and commentary.  Traction's TeamPage software is also being used by DOD and is deployed in the UK.

Entrprise level web logging solves a lot of problems with using e-mail distribution lists and organizes information to create true knowldege management.  It is definitely a strong contender in the law enforcement and justice world as a means of quick information sharing.
