OK, I'm back live on the Home Page. If you are looking for a wrap-up to my turkey season in NY and WI, click "On the Road" over to the right ---->

For more fun and games, keep reading...

Wisconsin might as well call itself the "Festival State." We sure know how to party here. Take Summerfest, from June 24 to July 4, one of the USA's biggest outdoor gigs, with live music on a dozen stages and lots more...well, check it out on the Web.

Wisconsin also has a series of ethnic festivals: German Fest, Festa Italiana, Indian Summer and more, and of course, there's Bluegill Festival, Walleye Weekend, and on and on. My favorite, though, at least from the standpoint of accuracy in naming, is Boltonville's Rain Days, held annually on Memorial Day Weekend. I don't know when the organizers decided to give it its name, but it's about as accurate as they come. Maybe they got tired of people complaining about the weather during their Memorial Day picnic and parade, so they named it after the weather.

Anyway, after a gorgeous Friday evening, an all-day rain on Saturday kept the tradition alive. So if you're into live tent entertainment with a drip, head on out to Boltonville tonight for Road Show and Oil Can Harry, or tomorrow night for Grand Ole Opry Stars (They won't tell us WHICH stars...). Boltonville is located between West Bend and Random Lake just off State Highway 28/144. One street is blocked off for motorcycle parking. A big tent covers the music stage, the carnival rides are running, and there are enough Porta Potties lined up behind the fence to suggest they are expecting a crowd.

Oh, and did I mention fireworks?

Check it out....
