EFF: How Not To Get Sued By The RIAA For File-Sharing. [Scripting News]

Has anyone tested the water in the US Capital lately?

Newsweek: "Senator Hatch hasn't yet codified his Dr. Strangelovean no-due-process piracy antidote into upcoming legislation." [Scripting News]

Question: Is it a mandatory job qualification in this day in age for all politicians to be total freaking idiots?!  If not, please list those who are not in the comments.

Loosen those ties guys!

Tight Necktie May Boost Glaucoma Risk

Yippee! This is what you've been waiting for all these years.  The necktie is now officially a workplace health hazard.  I'm sure OSHA will be all over any employer who makes you wear one without allowing you to loosen it and open the top button on your shirt.

Does this mean that neckwear will soon join a list of established risk factors for glaucoma that includes being older than age 40; of African-American, Irish, Russian, Japanese, Hispanic, or Scandinavian descent; or having diabetes, hypertension, poor vision, or a family history of glaucoma?

Maybe not, but it does suggest that when it comes to neckwear, tight isn't right -- at least when it comes to protecting your vision.

(Solar) Power to the Masses [Slashdot]

I've been driving past this solar power tower plant near Barstow, CA for years now.  I always wondered how much power it could produce.  The real surprise is that there doesn't have to be any sunlight for this plant to produce power!  Amazing!

2191.78 Years for the RIAA to Sue Everyone [Slashdot]

I can't wait for the RIAA to drag some little old 85 year old Grandmother in front of a judge and jury.  When she gets done with her tearful story about not being able to afford to buy a CD on Social Security, and how she downloaded some Tommy Dorsey to play on the anniversary of her wedding to her long departed husband, there will not be a dry eye in the courtroom.

Now this is what I'm talking about!  Lets see some real head to head competition in the business world.  Standing around chest pounding and chanting "We're not Microsoft" is not going to impress the big boys.  What you have to offer that will help their bottom line is all they care about.  This should be tons of fun to watch.  You tweaked the giants nose and now its put up or shut up time!
