WASHINGTON -- About 27.3 million U.S. residents have been victims of identity theft during the past five years, according to a survey released Wednesday by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), but the agency is unsure how many of those crimes happened through technological means such as the Internet.
7.  Verizon, Nortel in $1 billion network expansion deal. Verizon Wireless Inc. will expand and upgrade its 3G (third generation) cellular network over the next three and a half years with about $1 billion worth of equipment from Nortel Networks Corp., the companies said.
