This immediate crackdown appears to be for show.
We will be very surprised if the enforcement diesel ban (which only affects older trucks) actually continues. The truckers rule the road and have long flaunted all kinds of laws, just overwhelming any enforcement attempts. Their trucks never seem to be ticketed for speeding or never booted for illegal parking. A large percentage of big rigs have unlicensed radios and there is little attempt to remove them from the airwaves on bands that are licensed to others (ham radio, etc.)
