I've spent the morning working on a window bid for one of Bennett College's historic rehabs.  All good stuff.  I was due in Charlotte @ 1:00p but obviously didn't make my own deadline.

There is a brewing story with regards to Thursday's Board of Education candidate forum.  The forum was originally proposed as a joint venture between ABC of Guilford County and UNC-G.  That arrangement seems to be changing somewhat.

ABC put on one of the finest candidate forums I have ever attended right before the July primaries and I have no doubt the UNC-G event has been planned in the same manner.  However, it appears that there are some folks who are questioning the propriety of a public university teaming up with a political organization that has made its candidate choices known in advance of the forum.

I am really going to try and start blogging from the road this week, but until I get everything working - I'm incommunicado.  Talk amongst yourselves.

Apparently when WFMY's Frank Mickens contacted me last Friday he was trying to get a comment on some real news.  According to the story he filed, the City is considering a bond referendum for the renovation of War Memorial Stadium.

I called David Wharton to find out what he knew about such a possibility and he knew nothing about it and said it was his understanding that such a bond is just one of the financing possiblities.  The story doesn't say who with the City has proposed the bond referendum.
