I hate newspapers. No, wait, that's not true. I actually like them very much. There's only one thing that bothers me: the size of them. In Holland, about every newspaper has the size of four times an average magazine, the A2-format. That's big. That's irritating.

When you read a newspaper, you need a large table with enough free space to be able to browse through the paper without having to hold it in your hands. If you do hold it in your hands, you'll get tired after reading one page.

This week, one of Amsterdam's best known newspapers changed it's size. The Parool, as it is called, used to be as large as described above, but they changed it and now it's tabloid-size. I love that! A nice litte newspaper, with enough space for large articles, and small enough te be able to read it when on a train or a chair without a table near you.

Unfortunately, I live in Rotterdam, so I haven't been able to buy a copy and see if it's really a nice newspaper. This weekend I will be in Amsterdam, and will surely find me a Parool, but that's only this weekend.

I really do hope that other newspapers will change their sizes too.
