In Search of Stupidity

I am re-reading my copy of "In Search of Stupidity".

It has to have one of the greatest covers I have ever seen on a book:

In Search of Stupidity

For a software developer the book is an entertaining (and sometimes thought provoking) read. The question I have is: how did the author manage to place himself near the centre of so many of these marketing disasters?

The reason I dug my copy out and started to re-read it is because I believe that there is a new train coming down the software tracks. One that is going to cause many of the old style ERP companies, such as Aderant (whom I used to work for), a lot of pain. I would not be investing in these companies right now.

It is a very interesting time to be a software developer. And no, that is not a curse: there is a wealth of opportunity out there. The trick is simply to be on the right platform. For there surely is a train a coming...
