From this morning's Tropical Weather Outlook
A BROAD LOW PRESSURE AREA ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE IS LOCATED ABOUT 450 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM CONTINUE TO BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED...AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD FORM LATER TODAY AS THE SYSTEM MOVES WESTWARD TO WEST-NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE EASTERN ATLANTIC.
Computer models suggest that this would not be a threat to the Caribbean Islands and probably wouldn't be a threat to the mainland U.S. either. Too soon to rule out the latter possibility, however, given how far east the wave currently is. 2005 Hurricane Season, Weather comment []8:16:53 AM   trackback []  |
