Upgrade Pocket PC

T-Mobile just announced and provided the general availability of PPC 2003. Considering that I have been pretty unhappy with their current radio stack and it's abilities with their current implementation. I hoped right on the band wagon. I downloaded and installed the upgrade this morning. Here are some of my general notes - I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with it so far.

  • The whole upgrade took 35 minutes. I downloaded the 18 meg install file and installed it with no problems.
  • I am using a USB hub and the upgrade will not work if you are connected through it. Actually, just moved the cradle as a direct connect and it ran with no problem.
  • Make sure that you back up all data on the device. It will overwrite everything on the device and requires a completely new partnership.

I am really looking forward to working with the new version. With any luck this will fix the current radio problems they have!
