Building Smart Clients in Visual Basic: This hour-long presentation will take you through the essentials of building smart client applications in Visual Basic including handling disconnected data, deploying the application and creating killer UI. We'll also dive into building mobile applications and using ASP .NET to build a web front end to some of the same data. Smart Client Deployment

This session will cover the issues and capabilities of Smart Client applications.  The Smart Client is an application that runs outside of the browser taking advantage of the Windows Operating System.  The biggest challenge to these applications has been their deployment and maintenance across thousands of clients.  The .NET Smart Client directly addresses these issues while still taking advantage of the Internet protocols that power the distributed environments of today.
