Picture experiment

Just seeing if I can post pictures...

While I was away...

I saw Burnley play 3 times:

LOST 5-3 at Preston (Dec 20)  Unlucky.
LOST 3-1 at Crewe (Dec 26)  Somewhat unlucky.
LOST 1-0 at home to Stoke (Dec 28)  Dire.

That's my lot for this season... perhaps it's for the best if I stay away...

Christmas Present

Pictured below is my Xmas present from Daniel. As an early present I bought him a trip to see Iron Maiden play in Dublin, including being flown there by none other than the IM frontman Bruce Dickinson. When he's not singing in Maiden, Bruce is a commercial airline pilot on the Boeing 737 with the charter company Astreus. I managed to get an inside track on the Dublin flight thanks to the wonderful Pprune (which Janet and I have both frequented for many a moon). Wish I could have been there myself, but Daniel had a great time by all accounts. The official flight number was Flight 666! Anyway he got one of the special headrest covers signed by Bruce (who was kind enough to write me an appropriate line from "Flight of Icarus") and drummer Nicko McBrain who was also on the flight (Nicko has a PPL too).

Later Daniel bumped into Bruce in the street, got him to sign a "Rainmaker" CD for me, and told him to get out to Oshkosh. Nice work all round Daniel!

This is likely to be the only time I will wear a dinner jacket for the next 100 years.
