Ski-plane Fly-in
Well who would have believed it. I went to bed on Thursday evening thinking there was no way the ski-plane fly in would happen, and we were heading for our second "no-plane fly-in" in succession. There was hardly any snow on the runway and the weather forecast said we'd be lucky to get an inch. Wonderfully, it snowed almost all day on Friday! And even better, there wasn't a cloud in the sky on Saturday, with light winds. Official report & photos here: http://www.eaa.org/communications/eaanews/040126_skiplane.html My photos below:
Lack of snow in other areas kept the numbers down but we had about 15 planes in.

Being interviewed for Channel 11 and doing my bit to promote the Clarets (who beat Gillingham 3-1 to progress to the 5th round of the Cup for the second year in a row... this really was a good day...)

Took a skiplane ride with Doug Conciatu in the Cuby

Soppy interlude for Janet's benefit xxx

Working up the courage to attempt to ski down Compass Hill... the results were not pretty.

And saving the best 'til last... a true "Only in America" moment. Indeed "Only in Wisconsin". Yes, folks, he has got the skins of two dead foxes keeping his propeller warm and those are their heads you can see at each end!
WHY?
