Factcheck.org has an update posted today based upon last night's debate that highlights both candidates' misstatements. It is an interesting read.

They clarify Bush's part-ownership in a timber company. Actually, there are two clarifications: first, the $84 in income in 2001 came from Lone Star before it bought part-ownership int he timber company, so that was their bad. But they do point to a disclosure document from Bush, dated last year, that clearly identifies Lone Star's part-ownership in a timber company.

Lots of other misrepresentations on both sides, worth reading about. We all should know the truth.

Factcheck.org is one of the reasons I love the Internet.

The Ironic Times is a hoot today. Don't forget to read the marquee headlines running by at the top.

Just think about it: someday there's going to be a George W. Bush Presidential Library.

At least it should be cheap to build: it's not like they'll need a lot of room for books or newspapers.

I guess that leaves more space for video archives of his press conferences -- oh wait.

Do you think they'll include footage of W's proudest moment: standing on the aircraft carrier announcing the end of major combat operations, with a "Mission Accomplished" banner behind him?

Which raises a very good question: what would you do if you had the job of archiving for posterity the presidency of George W. Bush?
