Podcast, Automation World 55 New Podcast up. "Recording in the mobile studio, Gary reflects on leadership and energy issues from his trip to Las Vegas to attend the Schneider Electric customer conference. That's two straight weeks of record attendance at conferences in a supposedly down economy. He also discusses the latest Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture release. Siemens acquisision Siemens continues its quests to build its presence in the process industries and to build a comprehensive digital manufacturing portfolio. Finally my Google alerts page paid off and I saw this press release that Siemens has acquired innotec GmbH of Schwelm, Germany (US office in Houston). innotec develops and markets digital engineering software and services for the process industry. It will become part of the Industry Automation division of  the Siemens Industry Sector. The company provides life cycle management software for process assets from design to deployment. This complements Siemens previous acquisition of UGS for a similar purpose on the discrete manufacturing side.
