Cunanan, the Barbarian During today's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, the always-perky Katie Couric referred to a fashion worn by a participant as having been designed by (soundbite transcribed by me from NBC braodcast) "Donatella Versucci." Versucci may or may not be the past tense of Versace, but it sounds an awful lot like the Italian explorer Vespucci, from whom America took its name. But then, Gianni Versace would probably still be alive if he'd never come to the USA and encountered one of America's great contributions to world culture -- the celebrity stalker, in the form of Andrew Cunanan.   11:46:09 AM    comment []
