Data Mining is an interesting area and soon we will have APIs to use data mining in Java applications. JSR-173 designed specifically to incorporate data mining into any application that requires advanced analytics has been approved unanimously by the Java Community Process Executive Committee. It's in good hands as Oracle being the largest database company is leading the spec. Here is a detailed report by JDJ news desk.
