During my childhood I always dreamt about becoming an astronaut and spent a lot of time reading books about space adventure and space research. But my fortune brought me to the software industry and my dream of making to the space still remains to be realized. I’m not too young to make a career shift and software industry does not pay enough to buy a private trip into space.

Do you have a similar dream? Want to be the first software developer in space? It is exciting to know that Oracle has started a sweepstakes to send one developer into the space. The Oracle Space Sweepstakes winner will be selected to participate in a suborbital spaceflight to experience weightlessness and view the earth from 62 miles above its surface. You may be that lucky person!

This winner will be drawn from monthly quizzes based on Java and Service Oriented Architecture technologies. If you are a smart Java developer and your star sign is good you will be the one who can reach out to the stars.

The winner will have the unique opportunity to participate in the historic birth of commercial space travel and help set the stage for future generations of explorers. In addition to one suborbital flight, Oracle is also giving away two Mac PowerBooks, five Apple iPods and 10 "Star Wars" trilogy DVD sets.

Are you a developer and want to take on this challenge? Then why wait?  Find out more and register to this Oracle Space Sweepstakes. The details of this sweepstakes can also be found in this Oracle Press Release.

Unfortunately I cannot participate in this sweepstakes as an Oracle employee and I look forward to another opportunity in future.

Anyway I wish you good luck for your space adventure with Java and SOA!
