Your life, as you know it, is over...

..thank god!

This week marked the start of my new life. After some six months of serious illness and mind-numbing absence from work, I returned on Wednesday just gone. I have a new role at work (Technology Evangelist), a completely new outlook and attitude towards all things, and as part of my rehabilitation a whole new set of hobbies and past times. It seemed only fitting then to unveil the new blog too - welcome! Trust me, this one won't be going anywhere for quite some time to come.

A large part of the new role at work involves immersing myself not only in every cool piece of technology that we are developing, but also in every fantastic new toy that those talented boys and girls at Microsoft are building into their operating systems and development tools. So, my Macs are, alas, all gone now, and my Debian Linux installations have all been removed, well all bar one anyway. My job now is to eat, sleep and breathe .NET, among other things, and my blog is going to reflect (sorry - you have now been warned though). Aside from the 9-5 routine though I also need to get back into my writing in a very big way. 6 months is a long time to go without doing any at all, particularly when you have a publisher literally acheing to get your new work finished and in print. Thankfully though those fabulous people at Apress have been very very very patient and understanding, and for that they continue to have my undying gratitude and thanks.

So, anyways, here's to the new blog, the new job, the new life and the renewed sense of focus and drive. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am ;)
