My favorite moment of New Year's Eve TV coverage People who advocate drug policy reform sometimes have reputations as being a wild, but for what it's worth I saw in the new year watching television with my family.
After Shrek 2, we turned to our local ABC affiliate's live coverage of night spots around Chicago. Anchored by the station's sometimes sharp, mostly smirky sports director Mark Giangreco and Janet Davies, a lifestyle reporter who displays a sort of slightly wacky mom persona during live coverage, both were stationed at Navy Pier where Big Head Todd and The Monsters were playing.
A few minutes before midnight, Giangreco noted that smelled something burning. It smells like someone's burning rope, he added as Davies feigned shock and told Giangreco that he was going to get into trouble.
