Life is Random! Apple is not....

Got my hands on an iPod shuffle at an Apple briefing today.
Nice Machine-but so-what I hear you ask?

Some thoughts on this:

1. Apple seem to be pushing it as a cheap USB drive as well,
i.e. " if you are going to get a USB drive, then get one of these"
So I think that tons of techies will buy them with the excuse of "I got it for the cheap gig"

2. The first POSITIVE experience you have an MP3 device seems to stay with you and you tend to align with that brand (much like cars). People I know who went with Creative or iRiver as their first MP3 players mostly have stayed with those brands. So - with the Shuffle, Apple create an entry level 'iPod' brand connection which they hope will continue - - upgrading then to a Mini, Full iPod and then "HALO EFFECT" over to a MAC computer. Clever if it pans out, lets see.
