USA Today has an article about how big birding has become. It is not uncommon for people to travel all around the world and spend a huge amount of money in search of a bird that can be put on their birders list. People should never forget that a lot of birding can be done in your backyard. I personally have feeders in my backyard that I enjoy daily.

South Carolina, states that birding is big business and a person can bird on a budget or you can spend a lot of money traveling around the world birding. Either way a good means of entertainment.
