State Candidates Surveyed 2006.

Victorian State Election 2006

On behalf of the members and communities served by the Central Ranges Local Learning and Employment Network Inc, the Board of the LLEN has asked each of the candidates contesting the Lower House State electorates of Macedon District, Seymour District and Ballarat East District in the upcoming State election to respond to a series of questions submitted to them on Friday November 17th 2006.

The deadline for response was Thursday 23rd November 5:00pm. We have circulated this link to all 300+ LLEN Members and WebSite subscribers.

The Board of Directors of the CRLLEN takes very seriously its role to independently advocate 'without fear or favour' on behalf of the communities and particularly the young people it serves. The Board does not imply support for any position provided by a candidate, rather it is the position of the Board to encourage and support vigorous community debate.

We have not altered, corrected or modified the responses in any way.

By using Google Earth, it is now possible to view Maplecroft risk data on an interactive globe, overlay it with other live sources of information, straight from your desktop. For example, here is a map of financial debt by country . Other examples available include AIDS, hunger, education, avian flu, natural disasters, poverty, and more. See the full list here. According to Maplecroft, the maps were made in ArcGIS and exported using Arc2Earth. Viewing global data with Google Earth is an excellent way to visualize the impact of issues illustrated with maps like these. via DigitalGeography and an E-mail from Maplecroft.

First year students' experience with technology: are they really digital natives. The aim of this study was to empirically document incoming first-year university students' experiences with an array of established and emerging technologies and technology-based tools. A study of 2000 students was carried out at The University of Melbourne in March 2006, and a preliminary report of findings was presented to the Melbourne Experience Committee in September 2006.
