From Business 2.0 comes some ironic business moments...

I don't know about you, but I hope my employer is not in this list, or I am fired for blogging!  Heh, maybe I should check them out first...  Nah!

This is related to my previous post on Ethics, Reporting and Writing.

The Online Journalism Review refers to this website as a reference to do perform research on the web...

Pay attention all you bloggers out there.  Here is a good resource to check your own methods of reporting...

What is hacking?

If backing up the URL to 'see what else is there' is hacking, then most of us are hackers...

"Philip Greenspun explains what the Harvard Business School applicants did that resulted in their being denied admission. It's a real stretch to call it hacking. And that's an understatement. [Scripting News]"

To blame the B-School applicants for hacking is a poor attempt to put the onus on someone else.

Excuse me, Harvard Business School, but hacking is not backing up on the URL to see what is there.  The Harvard Business School IT department should be taken to task for not writing proper specifications and making sure that their data was secure.  How many times have I had to make sure that data was secure?  Many, many times in my 30+year IT career.
