New Capability in the online catalog
We now allow patrons to change a pickup location from their record in the Web OPAC (Lakenet). The steps are:
1. Log into the patron record
2. Choose to view items on hold The system now gives a drop down menu in the Column labeled pickup location and a new pickup location may be selected from that list.
3. Patrons may change pickup locations on any or all of the holds.
4. Click on the Update List button. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a REQUIRED final step and pickup locations will not be updated unless patrons update the list.
Items that are in transit or already on the holdshelf will not give patrons the option to change the pickup location.
If you have questions or problems with the catalog, don't hesitate to call the library (231-722-7276)

Hackley Public Library and Woman’s Day Want to Know
How the Library Has Changed Your Life
Libraries can change lives. They are places of lifelong learning and opportunity that can help people discover the world.
This spring, the Hackley Public Library, the American Library Association and Woman’s Day magazine want to know how the library has changed the lives of the people in our community. From now until May 10, anyone who has a story to tell about how the library has changed his or her life can send it to womansday@ala.org. Four of the stories will be featured in an upcoming issue of Woman’s Day. The story must be 700 words or less.
The initiative is part of a program sponsored by the American Library Association and Woman’s Day magazine called “Put it in Writing @ your library,” a part of The Campaign for America’s Libraries. The Campaign is a multi-year public awareness and advocacy campaign designed to promote the value of public, school, academic and special libraries and librarians in the 21st century.
