Government, Elections, and Law

  • GCensus "gCensus is an effort to make geographic data freely and easily accessible to the public, without the need for expensive GIS software packages. With Google's excellent free mapping program Google Earth, you can use this site to visualize a wide variety of data best displayed on a map."
  • Social Explorer provides easy access to demographic information about the United States. Some parts are subscription only.

Health

  • Herbs Guide information on medicinal and natural herbs.

Holidays

  • St. Patrick's Day "Information about this March 17 holiday celebrated in honor of the patron saint of Ireland. Features background about St. Patrick, a listing of parades and events throughout the world, a listing of Irish pubs, and an Irish quiz. Also includes links to Irish toasts and Irish slang.   • Amtrak Train Status near real time train info: Enter a city pair OR a city an train number. A page with one or more trains will appear. Select the train of interest and click "resubmit." Another page, with departure/arrival info will appear along with any info about delays and estimated departure/arrival info. Btw, don't worry about the potential error message at the top of the page.
