Muskegon residents hit by telephone banking scam by Local reports | The Muskegon Chronicle Thursday February 26, 2009, 9:37 AM MUSKEGON -- Dozens of Muskegon-area residents Thursday morning reported receiving "scam" phone calls, designed to steal their credit card and ATM card pin numbers. The Muskegon County Sheriff's Department and local bank and credit union officials are warning residents not to give the information to the callers. More commonly referred to as "phishing," the calls usually inform people that their credit card or ATM card has been "compromised," and asks the person to provide the card pin numbers so there cards can be "reactivated." 2:10:00 PM     New on our Web 11:27:55 AM     Celebrate Black History Month Online.
