There is no FDIC in China Jesus warned against storing up treasure on earth. While all earthly storage places are ultimately of no heavenly value, some are remarkably less reliable than others.  Check out this recent report from the Chinese government concerning its own banks:   240 corruption cases in China's banks, says report. The Xinhua news agency, citing a State Banking Regulatory Commission official, said the money stolen from commercial banks from January to June amounted to about half of the country's total sum loss to bank embezzlement.  China uncovered 240 cases of corruption in its state-owned commercial banks in the first half of the year, with losses totaling 1.6 billion yuan (198 million dollars), state media said Sunday. 10:41:12 PM    comment []
