3850 S. Norton revisited
"Okey, it's a nice town. So is Chicago. You could live there a long time and not see a Tommygun. Sure, it's a nice town. It's probably no crookeder than Los Angeles. But you can only buy a piece of a big city." --Raymond Chandler, Farewell, My Lovely (1940).
We never left. Let's review, I have discovered a line on the map of L.A. that runs from the Black Dahlia's dumpsite, along a Cardinal compass point, West to a place called Clement Junction. It's not a real line, it's just two sets of map co-ordinates. Some comments I have seen concerning that location, raise real questions about even that. One commenter from So. California seemed to think that the junction was named more recently. This is not surprising, that location has seen huge changes and is now the place where the Union Pacific tracks go deep underground in the vast new subway and transit corridor South to the Harbor Area. Fair enough, I have some thoughts on the subject, but I still haven't got all my bearings. Some other commenters at bethshort.com have caused me to move Bette A.& B. to the other side of Norton, the West side, half way being the hydrant, mere feet to the Northwest of it. This hasn't changed the latitude, just the longitude. Thank you, all. You know who you are.
The new bearings for Location #1 are: Latitude 34.01149/Longitude -118.332.
The Location #3 co-ordinates have not changed: Latitude 34.01149/Longitude -118.212.
The Proof ; L1-L3= 120 degrees of Longitude or two minutes.
L2= Latitude 34.01149/Longitude -118.272.
The midpoint, if such a place even exists at all, can tell us the intended length of the arc and if Location #3 is the correct terminator. This one was a little trickier to get so take my word for it, unless you want to spend all night checking my figueroa's, that Latitude 34.01149 passes through the one of the openings in the columns in the peristile of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and that if you follow the Longitude -118.272 you end up, Rafer Johnson-like in the Golden Bowl of the Olympic Torch high above the stadium, and baby that's some big torch. The dumpsite is precisely 60° West of you, and Clement Junction exactly 60° to the East.

Conclusion: This case gets screwier by the minute. Now get out of here and don't come back unless you plan...Please leave a comment? It's all I ask for. It's what makes a blog a blog. Otherwise, it's a diary, and aren't you ashamed, reading somebody's diary. You pervert.
