"She's just gone"
Drew Peterson's shown me an awful lot of cheap movie moxie so far. From his initial funny crack about those alleged doughnuts to his ultra-cryptic, "She's where she wants to be" thing, he's certainly sticking to the script. Anybody recognize it? I surely don't.
Accordingly, he's not showing too much grief about poor Stacy what's her name, it's an menstural thing. Why should he? "Why would I look for someone I don't believe is missing"? He's given us her last bearing. He, therefore knows where she is, right? He said so. Where she want's to be? And where is that, Drew?
Pretty much an admission of guilt, non? Omniscience? Nope. He merely stated he is aware of her last safe whereabouts. Parlez-vous, France? Assholes like that always trip themselves up somehow. He's got two options: Give up or run. The wise-acre with the beefy butts from the local media is playing hell with his innocence presumptions in the eyes of the public, and they'll happily execute him for it, so his shutting the fuck up is not an option at this point, it is an utter imperitive, lest Droopy drop any more hot, steaming clews in their already poopy drawers.
The big shots at Bollingbrook P.D. have already dropped him like he had the B.O. and then the pal who helped him move that blue-barrel to the Cal-sag channel are the obvious veins to continue work. If he's being set-up, this is where it's coming from. Union contacts are useful here. Had he been paying his dues to the FOP Lodge? Teamsters? Lawyering? Sure. You'll get it all here.
As for you Black Dahlia fans, and I know you're there, your favorite unsolved murder will remain solved here at the Black Dahlia Reader. I went back to the reader because the Google likes it and their continued improvements to my maps, with comments, it's going to allow me to pack all the Dahlia data into the cartogram for a one-click survey of the entire crime, though I'll still handle the hard esoterica. Who else could?
