McKinley Flight Seeing
This is the second sunny day in 15 days of rain. A friend invited me to join her on a flight seeing trip with K2 Aviation around McKinley. She had purchased it at the Anchorage Concert Association's Oscar Night Auction fund raiser last winter.
We had a great drive to Talkeetna where we had lunch at the Talkeetna Lodge before meeting the mountains up close and personal.
While flight seeing, I spent some time quietly paying tribute to two friends who had climed McKinley. One made it to the top and home. The other made it to the top but died that evenning after she had summitted---simply all used up. I admire their vision, drive, and courage.
