Oh, Wow!

The UAA Seawolves played a fabulous game Saturday night---the last home game of the season and parents night. They won 6 to 1. Our defense, which did not exist Friday night, effectively shut down MSU.
Catching Up from Last Week/s
When I got home from New York, Washington, D. C. and Seattle, I hit the ground running. Wednesday evening was Farah's farewell cocktail party. It has been an incredible time for me---the 10 months she has been Alaska World Affairs Council Executive Director and I have been the Administrative Assistant. It has been a rare partnership---one I will treasure for a very long time.
Thursday, Dr. Sung Yoon Lee, Friday's World Affairs speaker, arrived. Farah and I picked him up at the airport and took him out to radio station 650 for a Mike Porcaro interview. I had not done that before. It was an interesting behind the scenes look at what goes on. Mike Porcaro asks good/intelligent and interesting questions and Sung Yoon Lee was articulate in his answers. In the evening I took Sung Yoon Lee to dinner at Orso's---good conversation and good food.
Friday, I attended his luncheon presentation about North Korea then hosted a dinner for him at the Crow's Nest. We had another quality dinner and more stimulating conversation.
Saturday, I picked up Sung Yoon Lee at the hotel for a drive along Turnagain Arm to Alyeska and back. The view was limited by heavy fog, but the scenery had a certain eerie beauty.
All this week I have been trying to catch up. Also, I am getting ready to leave my employment at the Alaska World Affairs Council. I attended my last Board meeting on Monday and have spent the rest of the week handing things over to the new Executive Director. I decided that the project I started at the end of last February, February 2006,---getting office procedures and details set up---has been completed. In fact, this Friday I skipped the World Affairs lunch and went with L. to the last hockey coach's lunch of the season.
