End of Stock Market Game

I delivered prizes to the winning teams this weekend. A high schooler from South Anchorage won the Student Individual Division. His portfolio out performed the S&P 500 by 4.8 percent and made $9,862 on $100,000.

A team from Susitna Valley Middle School at Talkeetna won the Middle School Division. Their portfolio gained $7,579 for an 3.83 per cent increase greater than the S&P 500. L and I had a delightful early morning drive to Talkeetna--2 1/4 hrs. After I presented the certificates and t-shirts, L and I went to the Talkeetna Lodge for brunch.

A team from Bethel Regional High School won the High School Team Division. Their portfolio gained $3,879 for an increase of 0.395percent greater than the S&P 500. I didn't deliver their certificates and t-shirts---Bethel is definitely off the road system and and about a $350 airline ticket from Anchorage. They received their goodies by U.S. mail.

The Elementary School Division was won by a fifth grade team at Academy Charter in Palmer. I had a delightful conversation with members of the winning team and the class when I took their certificates and t-shirts to them. It is amazing what they learned. Kudos to their teacher.
